On dealing with negativity: “I used it to motivate me then, and I still do. I remember every person who told me I couldn’t do something or that I was ugly or too fat. I have a ‘s*** list’—people from my past who have been soulless and judgmental. Even after I got through my awkward phase, got my braces off, and figured out how to dress my body, people in the music business were like, “You’re never going to make it.” I see them now and I’m like, ‘Ha!’ That’s one of the reasons I named my record Warrior.

On studying at a prestigious dance academy in London as a child: “I was 10 years old looking like I was 28, being a very sensual dancer. I was a tormented little kid who had to put on this sexy facade because that was my job and my life. But my heart was the same, and I was this innocent little girl. I wanted so much love… While I was in London, I was abused, mentally, physically, everything… I’m a very forgiving person, and I don’t want to hurt anybody. What’s past is past…. [It got worse] when I started hitting puberty, when I started becoming a woman and stopped being a little girl.”

On being Katniss Everdeen: “I read the Hunger Games books when it was Oscar season, so for the first time I was in these dresses which didn’t look like me and didn’t feel like me. I felt like a walking rag doll. I remember sitting there in hair and makeup, listening to the things that they were talking about, and most of the things I didn’t even know…. So I read that and I was like, ‘I know exactly how that feels.’”

On her infamous 2000 Grammy Awards dress: “I have that at home. The other day, my housekeeper put it on a mannequin in my spa, where I get my hair and makeup done. She sent me a picture. She was like, ‘You like this dress?’ Um, yeah, but I don’t know if I like it out in the house!”

On her career: “I’m a singer. I’m a dancer. I’m a performer. I’m an actress. That’s what I’m supposed to be doing. It makes me a better parent, a better person.”

Mother Arrested for Using 13-yr-old as Babysitter

When does one become qualified to babysit? Is there a specific age or grade level that accurately measures the aptness of a sitter?

A 39-year-old woman was arrested for leaving her four children – ages 13, 10, 4, and 1 1/2 – alone at home while she attended church. According to this article, she left the children in the care of her eldest child; but when a neighbor called the police, stating that the 4-year-old wandered into the yard across the street alone, this mother was charged with “risk of injury to a minor.”

Some people are criticizing the mom, while others are pointing fingers at the neighbor, “accusing her of acting in anything but a neighborly way.”

Radar reports the buxom twosome met online. They hail from the same city in the Ukraine -- Note to Science: someone may want to look into a water sample from Odessa -- and since they wear their hair and makeup in such a similar fashion to one another, Valeria's friends simply insisted the pair must be blood related. (Science, are you listening? Maybe get to work on that water sample idea?)

How Nollywood Actress Bisi Komolafe Died In Ibadan

The showbiz industry was again thrown into mourning on Tuesday following the death of a fast-rising actress, Bisi Komolafe. Many refused to initially believe the news which started trending online on New Year eve, especially as a similar story was erroneously reported on Friday by an online platform, claiming that a prominent actor was dead.

The truth about Komolafe, however, manifested when some of her colleagues confirmed the news. When our correspondent called cross-over actress, Foluke Daramola, she was all tears and when asked what was responsible for her weeping state, she said the industry had lost an actress, revealing her to be Komolafe.

There were speculations concerning how she actually died. While it was said that she was slightly sick, an online source said she died in the University College Hospital, Ibadan after suffering complications from a four-month pregnancy which resulted in a miscarriage. 

Actress Lizzy Anjorin, who told our correspondent that she got wind of the news via the picture of the late actress displayed by some of her BlackBerry contacts, added that if it was true then it was a huge loss. She stated, ‘‘I had met her on set many times. She is a nice person, a very nice actress

.

Taraba State Governor Out Of German Hospital, Wife Delivers Twins

AILING Taraba State Governor Danbaba Fulani Suntai has made his first public appearance – not physically, but in a photograph (right) – in about 67 days. Suntai flew the plane which crashed on October 25 near the Yola Airport. He has been discharged from the German hospital where doctors treated him for multiple fractures, The Nation learnt yesterday. 

In the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) photograph, apparently taken by an amateur, Suntai looks darker than he used to be. He is holding his baby – one of the twins his wife, Hajia Hauwa, was delivered of on December 6, also in Germany – and looking straight into the camera, his wife is holding the other. 

Her trip to Germany to assist her husband at the hospital changed the plan for her to delivered of the babies in the United States.

With the twins, the Suntai family now has five children – four girls and a boy (one of the twins).

HILLARY CLINTON Chelsea Distraught After Hospital Visit

Chelsea Clinton was visibly upset as she left the NYC hospital where Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is being treated for a blood clot in her head -- although doctors now say things are looking up for Madam Secretary.

Chelsea was photographed outside New York Presbyterian Hospital Monday after visiting her mom ... who's been there since Sunday when doctors discovered the blood clot during an MRI.

Docs say Hill is now on blood thinners, but she's expected to make a "full recovery." They also confirmed the clot did not cause stroke or brain damage.

HUGH HEFNER & CRYSTAL CHASING TAIL at Mansion Wedding

It's all over but the partying for Hugh Hefner and Crystal Harris ... who finally tied the knot tonight at the Playboy Mansion -- after a brief 18 month time out.

Sources at Playboy tell us Crystal walked down the aisle around 7PM in front of an intimate group of family and friends -- a much smaller gathering than was originally planned for their June 2011 wedding.

That was canceled when ex-Playmate Crystal left Hef at the altar ... pulling the plug on their relationship days before the wedding.

Mini-Kanye rockin' the mic, or mini-Kim rockin' the ... whatever ... point is -- are Kim Kardashian and Kanye West having a baby boy or a baby girl?
The answer is they don't know yet, but TMZ has learned ... as soon as it's medically possible -- around week 16 -- Kim and Kanye intend to learn the sex of their unborn child.
Sources close to Kim tell us the couple already decided to pass on the old fashioned, wait and see route -- and are anxious to know what she's got in there, but don't read too much into that.

We're told, like most parents (say, anyway) ... K & K don't have a preference if it's a boy or a girl.

8:40PM PST:  Justin Bieber was not in the Ferrari ... sources familiar with the situation tell TMZ.  We're told one of Justin's friends was driving and another friend was in the passenger seat.

A paparazzo attempting to shoot photos of Justin Bieber's Ferrari was hit by another car and killed this evening -- although Bieber was NOT behind the wheel of the Ferrari ... TMZ has learned. 

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ Bieber's white Ferrari was pulled over by California Highway Patrol for a routine traffic stop on Sepulveda Blvd. ... near the Getty Center in LA.
