Waltzing to a win! Strictly Come Dancing finally beat The X Factor

They might have lost out to The X Factor for the last five years, but Strictly Come Dancing has finally come out on top.

After trouncing them in the ratings last year, the BBC1 dancing show celebrated their best series ever with a well-deserved win at the National Television Awards on Wednesday.

Beating the ITV singing contest to win the coveted Best Talent Show gong, the Strictly team seemed overjoyed as they rushed up on to the stage.

After going head-to-head in the Saturday night primetime ratings battle late last year, it seems that Strictly has well and truly triumphed in what Tess Daley described as their 'best year yet.'
