BABY PAPA

IMG-20120920-00002

I have got one more special shout out to make, to another new father amongst my friends.
You probably wondering why am calling him out, well Henry just recently had a cute baby girl, and I have had occasions where I couldn’t sleep and am updating my Facebook and twitter status at about 1.00am and there Henry is replying my post, and am like guy why aren’t you asleep, don’t you have to work tomorrow you know Lagos 5.00am call time to aviod traffic and he tells me ooh am on duty, baby sitting, princess Diane refused to sleep and my wife needs to rest........
Believe me I have been there (three kids) and done that so I understood what he was talking about.

So this is to you Henry for being supportive of wifey, for participating in baby nights out and being a good husband and father.
And to all the you out there holding it down for your wives and families, keep your chin up.

MIRACLE BABY

Lagos-20120907-00500

Talking about miracle babies, i recently got to celebrate the birth of a baby within my circle of friends, yeah Kingsley and Nete have a baby boy, Congratulations.

I first knew Kingsley as a colleague of my hubby(then fiance) in 2003, later on we became neighbors and family friends. But barely four years into his marriage, the union collapsed. My people, i tell you a divorce is truly a divorce when a woman brings down her enlarged wooden wedding portraits and with her bare hands splits each one into two right through the middle (anyway that's a story for another day).
But through the divorce, the death of his father, his job and house change (yes he abandoned us and moved to Lekki), Kingsley remained true to himself, an easy, cheerful, generous and  fun loving guy (believe me he plays hard), infact he was too easy going, that at a point i didn't think he would get married again.

But here i am dedicating this blog to you Kingsley, just to let you know that your friends are rooting for you, reach for the sky and always remain the ambassador of positivity that you are.
Uhhh! and please slow down a little.

As for you baby boo, i assure you of one thing daddy is gonna spoil you rotten.

Where is our First Lady?

Horst Schmidt Klinik in Wiesbaden, a German hospital where Dame Patience Jonathan, the wife of Nigeria's President, is presently being treated has confirmed that she would not be discharged so soon, a development that is contrary to frequent reports from the Presidency that the ailing first lady would return back to the country by the end of this week. One of the consultants with President Jonathan's wife told our foreign Correspondent during a telephone dialogue on Wednesday that the condition of the ailing first lady has not improved up to the expectations of the medical team.
Asked of the real cause of her ailment, the consultant who declined to go into details confirmed that Mrs Jonathan had undergone some intestinal operations to keep her tummy firm, a process she said led to poisoning and complications.

It would be recalled that the presidency had earlier maintained that the ailing Mrs Jonathan was only in Germany to rest until LEADERSHIP's foreign correspondent spoke with a spokesperson of Horst Schmidt Klinik in Wiesbaden, Germany that confirmed that the Nigeria's first lady was truly on admission in the hospital, receiving treatment after being operated for ruptured appendicitis which was a result of food poisoning.

"Those operations that were performed on Mrs Patience Jonathan led to a ruptured stomach and i think that was the reason she was fainting and as well having abdominal pains before she was brought here for treatments" the source said.
She also confirmed that the Nigeria's first lady who was brought into the hospital in a very delicate and bad state of health was then responding to treatments after she had undergone a major surgery to take away the poisons in her intenstine.

Nigerians please pray for her oooohhhhhh!, that thing should not happen again, if you don't believe me ask stella.

Bill & Giuliana Rancic (aka Perseverance)

Bill and Giuliana Rancic

Giuliana is taking time off from "Fashion Police" and "E! News," according to E! Online, but will return to her hosting duties to interview celebrities on the red carpet for the network's "Live From The Red Carpet" during the Emmys on Sept. 23.

The Apprentice winner Bill Rancic and E! News host Giuliana Rancic embody the word perseverance, and i'll tell you why, Giuliana has had to deal with her inability to conceive naturally, a miscarriage after a successful IVF, a second failed IVF attempt, a cancer diagnosis, a double lumpectomy(a surgical operation which involves the removal of cancerous lumps within both breast), a latter double mastectomy (the removal of all breasts tissues), breasts reconstructive surgery and subsequent cancer treatments, all within the first five years of her marriage. The babe just refused to quit and finally... finally.... with the help of a surrogate mother, they have a son Edward Duke Rancic.
Kudos must also be given to her husband Bill for his support and dedication to the marriage through it all no second wife, and his willingness to explore several options to having a baby.

I think we all have a lot to learn from these two love birds, i know i do!

FRUSTRATION

I was watching a movie this afternoon and a particular scene struck me so i thought i should share it with you guys.

SCENE ONE:  Action
Francis locates his friend Iyke at his workshop, and after the close of work he follows him home. Francis and Iyke, walk into the parlor and encounter a housemate of Iyke, Akpada sitting in the parlor, Iyke makes a quick introduction and Francis naturally takes over the conversation.
Francis: Good evening Akpada?
Akpada: Are u mad? You dey crazy? Abi they no get sense for your village? You no dey fear face?
Francis: Am sorry, but… but…..?
Akpada: But what? You no get sense for your village? You no look my face? My face resemble the face wey get good evening? You want make I wozz you? Abi you dey mad? You no fit differentiate between the face wey show good evening and the face wey get bad evening?
You saw a young man locked up in this god forsaken hell hole, living from hand to mouth, with no hope of eating for the next 24hrs, and all you could say is good evening, what is good about the evening?

Staggering isn't it? The truth is some of us will never get to feel, what that young man was going through and times like this, we just need to count our blessings and really be grateful to God. On the other hand, if life really deals us a rough hand, your true strength lies in your resilience, refuse to quit, extract yourself from any tricky situation (if you can't please abeg throw way pride and confide in someone that can help you) and take the necessary steps towards achieving your goals. And always remember life is not a test of speed but a journey occasioned with mountain peaks and valley lows bringing us to an expected end.
What is your expected end?

Topless Kate

MILAN - The editor of an Italian gossip magazine that ran pictures of Prince William’s wife sunbathing topless defended his decision on Monday, saying they were harmless and that the terrace where she was relaxing was visible from a street.
In an interview with Reuters, Alfonso Signorini, editor of Chi, also accused the British media of double standards for not publishing the photographs.
“It’s a scoop and a big one ... I didn’t have the slightest hesitation,” Signorini said.
The royal couple has started legal action against French magazine Closer which first published a dozen shots of Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge - formerly Kate Middleton - as she slipped off her bikini top while on holiday at a French chateau.

Personally i think Princess Kate needs to cut herself some slack, she hasn't done anything wrong that she should be ashamed. If any magazine decides to  publish photos of her chilling with her hubby, then they should have their fill. She needs to just ignore the publications, hold her head up high and move on, this whole buzz is probably going to die in a week or two. But to the fanatics out there well yeah, you can see but i assure you, you can't touch not even with a ten foot pole!
Last night i was talking to my hubby about an outing he had just come back from and he said something that struck me, he said "And i rushed home because of you". That got me thinking that true commitment to any relationship involve sacrifices. Sacrifice not in the light of denying your ambitions and desires, but in the sense of finding a middle point between you and your partner. Sometimes couples are just not willingly to think through the consequences of a decision, or on the other hand one partner is and the other, is just not interested. A breakdown in communication is always a red light in any relationship.
So today let's make it a routine to always consider our each other's feelings and work on compromises, while taking it a step further i must add, darling please don't always let me know you did it for me.
