FOURTH WEDDING DON'T...........MAKE-UP

This is Number 4  of the SEVEN DON'TS TO HAVING A STRESS FREE "I DO" DAY

4. Don't pick a stylist or makeup artist with an over inflated ego or an aggressive personality.

Your stylists hair and make up, are very crucial on the day of the wedding, since they are there to work on your look and help you look your finest. But as we all know, true beauty comes from within, so the last thing you want on the day of your wedding is a crappy stylist, who complains about every and anything or an egoistic one, who does not want to listen to your preferences but rather gets offended and acts defensive when asked a question or given a suggestion.

Unfortunately at my younger sister's traditional wedding, she had this pessimistic stylist. Timing was actually an issue at the wedding, cause  my sister had two looks for two different outfits and little or no time to change, but this guy worsened the tension and further dampened the mood in the room, to simply put it he was a pain in the butt. This guy complained about the lack of time, the weather, the food, accommodation, and even his  pay.

After considering professional expertise, personality should always be considered as a factor towards picking the right stylist/make up artist, someone who doesn't see his/her job as a way to pay the rent, rather pick the one who loves and appreciates the act of beauty, one who will not just make you up on the outside but also make you feel good on the inside with a smile, a friendly, indulgent personality and a good heart. Someone who won't turn your face into an art canvas while attempting to copy a celebrity look, rather one who with the right hair-do and make up will enhance your unique features, and highlight your true beauty.

HAPPY 52ND INDEPENDENCE ANNIVERSARY

On this memorable day, which marks the lowering of the union Jack and the reign of the Green and White Nigerian flag, with the declaration of independence,we cannot help but reflect on our past, present and future.
Although i may not be quick to recount the history of this great country Nigeria, however i do know one thing for sure, it is critical to my preservation that Nigeria survives. You see Nigeria is the only country where you and i will ever be First Class Citizens, so Arise O Compatriots, and let us no longer sacrifice our future and the future of our generations yet unborn on the altar of selfishness, greed, suicide bombings and corruption. Rather let us unite in Peace and harmony, and lift our great country Nigeria higher.

DAKORE MAKES STUNNING COME BACK

Dakore Egbuson makes stunning comeback in movie “Journey To Self”
Beautiful actress, Dakore Egbuson Akande, who took a break from acting after her wedding to Olumide, son of billionaire businessman, Harry Akande last year, has made a stunning comeback to her first love-acting. Dakore was part of the cast of a new gender inspired movie, “Journey to Self”, produced by actress Ashionye Michelle Raccah.
She acted alongside Nse Ikpe Etim, Catherine Edoho, Kalu Ikeagwu, Femi Jacobs and others. Though she has not featured in movies in recent times, Dakore played the role of Alex in the movie which also featured Carol King, with cameo appearances by Kalu Ikeagwu, Femi Brainard, Femi Jacobs and Chris Attoh.

Thank God, i was kind of worried that her hubby had banned her from acting, so happy to see her back strong. Welcome back babe, we missed you.

Veteran Actor Emeka Rollas Is The New AGN President

Veteran Actor Emeka Rollas Is The New AGN President
Veteran actor and once household name in Nollywood movies Emeka Rollas has emerged the new AGN president to lead the pack of leading actors and actresses into the fresh age of a stronger Nollywood.
Following the unending fiasco and the litany of accusations regarding financial impropriety that surrounded the former AGN president Segun Arinze , not forgetting the constant spats he apparently seemed to always have with Emeka Ike, the need for a change at the helm of affair was just only a matter of time to actualize.

I don't knew if this is good news or bad news for Nollywood, well let's see the on-folding sequence of events.

Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins -- best known for being one-third of 90's girl group TLC -- is getting her own reality show ... and the network making it happen -- is none other than TLC.
Sources close to the production tell ... the network has ordered four episodes of Watkins' reality show called "Totally T-Boz" which will air on TLC in 2013.

Arnold Schwarzenegger Lied
Arnold Schwarzenegger -- You Be the Judge
Arnold fessed up to cheating on Maria multiple times during his interview with "60 Minutes" last night ... saying Maria knew about ALL of his trysts.
But one source close to Maria tells us ... "BULLSH*T" -- saying Maria never would have defended him against all of the groping claims several years ago had she known Arnold was stepping out. The source also says Maria would have ended the marriage had Arnold told her.

I can't help being disappointed at Arnold, i used to admire his marriage and now to read all the accusations flying around, well..de...ja...vu.... Too bad.

RICK ROSS & YOUNG JEEZY Brawl at BET Awards SHOTS FIRED
0929-rick-ross-young-jeezy-getty

A fight broke out backstage at the BET Hip Hop Awards tonight between Rick Ross and Young Jeezy that resulted in shots being fired .. sources at the awards tell TMZ.
Ross and Jeezy exchanged words backstage and started pushing and shoving each other. We're told BET security and bodyguards for each of the rappers eventually separated the two.

Sources on the scene say that after the fight had been broken up, a member of Rick Ross' entourage pulled out a gun while in the parking lot and shots were fired.
We're told Jeezy and Ross are still at the awards, which are being taped tonight in Atlanta and air next month.

Guys please lets not make history repeat itself, remember Tuface and Notorious B.I.G. Let me break it down, each time you guys fight publicly you set off a boomerang effect that pitches your fans against each other, and one crazy fan can take the beef to a whole new level of gunshots and murder.

So in the words of M.J. keep it in the closet.

Flood Takes Over Anambra Communities as Gov Obi Cries For Help

Governor Peter Obi , with Anglican Bishop of Mbamili, Most Rev. Henry Okeke transversing what was once a sprawling community of Umueze Anam in a boat.
Governor Peter Obi, with Anglican Bishop of Mbamili, Most Rev. Henry Okeke transversing what was once a sprawling community of Umueze Anam in a boat.
Governor Peter Obi of Anambra State has solicited for assistance to tackle the effects of ravaging floods. He made this call Saturday while touring the affected local governments of Ayamelu, Ogbaru, Anambra West and Anambra East.

The governor, who had a hectic day accessing the affected areas in canoe, cancelled his planned trip to Mexico tomorrow on the reason that it is only a man devoid of feeling for his people that would travel out from the state for whatever reason, while his people faced dangers of death and displacement. The only trip I am disposed to undertake for now is answering calls to come for aid for the affected communities or for discussions on how to mitigate the suffering of those affected”, the governor said.

In some of the communities he visited, he held meetings with the stakeholders on the best possible way to render immediate assistance to the people. Besides giving directives to his cabinet members from affected communities to stay with their people and take charge of government support to them in the form of relief materials, the state has also set up camps for the displaced and sent vehicles and boats to evacuate those who are trapped in different parts of Anambra including those taking refuge on tree tops.

In some of the places visited, flood has completely taken over. Buildings as tall as three stories and palm trees were completely covered by flood.

This story is kind of personal to me cause i am an Anambrian by birth, the increased floodings in Nigeria calls for coincise crises management.

Dear Girlfriend and Dear Wife.

Dear Concubine,

How are you, hope you are fine, its been a while since we last spoke, she(my wife) finally traveled yesterday, so am able to write you.
Though the bible and the law condemns our union, and stronger ones amongst us have been brought to their knees because of you ask tiger woods or former California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, we just can't resist your forbidden apple.
Having you in my life unexplainably reduces my blood pressure, when the tension at home becomes unbearable you soot my nerves, and when am out of town, bored, lonely and in need of company, you are always readily available to rock me to sleep... if you know what i mean.
Like the forbidden fruit that cost Adam a life of leisure in the Garden of Eden, your presence in my life cost me a fortune in recharge cards, hotel bills, transport fare, chop money, school fees and even house rent.
Not to talk of the fear of STDs, or of being caught.
Undercover lover, forgive me when i don't pick up your call or when am rude to you on the phone, its only a front because someone is listening, bear with me when i insist on no text messages, i don't want to be caught by prying eyes and start World War IV.
However I remain loyal as long as your services remain constant.

Best Regards,

Man friend/Sugar daddy/Aristo/Mugu

Saturday, 29 September 2012

Good evening y'all, am feeling much better today thanks for not asking. As you well know, my younger sister recently got married, and my sister-in-law is to be married soon, so indulge me if i seem to write a lot on about wedding tinzs.
On wednesday i went browsing with my sister-in-law for a wedding cake at a couple of pastry shops around Ikeja axis and we did get a good deal. We also met up with her decorator at the proposed wedding hall, and she pretty much told us her decorative visions for the place, let's see how much her services will cost.

Anyway that pretty much sums up my week, and God please help my kids overcome this cold and catarrh flu, IJN Amen.

Okay so back to my SEVEN DON'TS TO HAVING A STRESS FREE "I DO" DAY. Here is NUMBER THREE.

3. Don't make your hair on the day of your wedding.

That is a big No No, it doesn't matter how fast or good your stylist claims he is, making your hair on that day could cause one or both of the following;

  • Take up most of your morning, subsequently reducing your glamming up time, and leaves you helpless to supervise any pre-wedding shortfalls.
  • Pains or headaches from all the hair pulling and dragging.

My advice is make your hair at least a day before the wedding, provide accomodation for your stylist if necessary, so on the wedding day all that needs to been done is simply styling and brush ups.
Do not harbor the fear that the hair-do might look rough in the morning, i tell you any hair-do that can't survive one night, ain't worth its salt.

EFCC Arrests Dubai-Bound Nigerian With $7 Million

EFCC_copy

THE Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) said yesterday that it has arrested one Abubakar Tijani Sheriff at the Muritala Muhammed Airport in Lagos for attempting to smuggle $7 million out of the country.
The accused, who is currently being held by the commission pending arraingnment in court, was arrested at the point of boarding a flight enroute Dubai.

EFCC’s spokesman, Wilson Uwajaren said the 24-year-old declared that he had a total sum of $4.5million on him but thorough screening and search showed that he was actually carrying over $7 million.
“He confessed that he was a courier for 20 individuals who hired him to courier the money for them to Dubai,” Uwajaren said. However, “investigations by the EFCC showed that Sheriff is a regular traveller and one of several couriers of illegal cash suspected to be proceeds of crime. His claims in respect of his accomplices are still being investigated by the Commission,” he added.
“The Commission warns travellers who for any reason want to move bulk cash out of the country to do so through the banking system. Otherwise, they must be prepared to declare it and explain the source of the money,” he added.
People we need to end this incessant looting and subsequent laundering of money.

65 Year Old Grandma Hides 1.740kg Cocaine In Herbal Syrup

photo

Luck betrayed a 65-year-old grandmother, Hassan Fatimat Abike also known as Chika Okoye, who attempted to smuggle 1.740kg of cocaine into London concealed in herbal syrup.
It was not her fist time of going to London as the drug was packed in balloons and inserted in 10 plastic containers of herbal syrup to avoid detection.

The suspect was to board a British Airways flight when officers of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) arrested her at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos on Wednesday. According to the Airport Commander, Mr. Hamza Umar, the suspect has two international passports that bear Hassan Fatimat Abike.

Preliminary investigation revealed that she is also known as Chika Okoye. She speaks Ibo and Yoruba fluently. Her father is a native of Abeokuta while her mother hails from Owerri, Imo State. Abike has six children and many grandchildren. She currently lives alone in Owerri and sells clothes to earn a living. The drug found in her bag tested positive for cocaine.

I really don't understand what conditions could have pushed an elderly woman, a grandmother for Christ sake who should be an epitome of integrity and honorable moral conduct, to get involved in such shady business. Well let's see what further investigations will reveal.

DEAR WIFE

This second letter is addressed to the wives. Read the first letter here

Dear Wife,
No one can deny the sacrifices you put into building the home, raising the kids and catering to my needs, even to the detriment of your aspirations. I write this letter, to let you know that your efforts are deeply appreciated, and if no one sees your efforts, your God in heaven who sees in secret would definitely reward you.
Though pride may sometimes get in the way of my decision making process, don't be fooled cause like a little child, i love being pampered and fed, food and all. Lead me not into temptation, but freely give unto me whenever i ask for it.  Forgive me when i forget your birthday and our anniversary, its just that the children's school fees have yet to be paid.
Ignore the occasional text messaging from those Jezebels,  they are just trouble makers, as for my blackberry that is off limits, for peace to reign please don't even touch it, also note that the special balloons you found in my wallet/bag are actually souvenirs distributed for marketing purposes, and though my words or actions may sometimes hint at infidelity, always remember that out of all the beautiful and willingly ladies out there, i chose you to be the mother of my kids, so believe me when i say, you are more than special.
My irreplaceable jewel, embrace your unique characteristic, cater to the home while maintaining your femininity (neat and desirable) and cherish our relationship always, never doubting that "YOU ARE STILL THE ONE".

Faithfully Yours,
Husband.

USHER'S EX-WIFE Appeals Custody Ruling
I Got Screwed

0831-tameka-usher-tmz

Usher's ex-wife Tameka Raymond is making good on her promise to fight a court order stripping her of child custody of their two children.
Tameka vowed to appeal the decision ... by filing a motion for new trial on grounds the judge was biased in Usher's favor.

Tameka claims the judge has a strong tie to Usher's lawyer, claiming the attorney was personally responsible for nearly half of the contributions to the judge's re-election campaign in 2008.  What's more ... Tameka alleges Usher's lawyer served on the judge’s re-election campaign committee.
Tameka also insists NO evidence was presented showing she couldn't take care of her kids.
Tameka also claims there was clear evidence of Usher's "past, current, and future inability" to care for the kids.
The judge hasn't ruled on her motion.

What do you guys think was she really screwed?

Thursday, 27 September 2012

My two daughters were down with the flu (catarrh and cough), so am kind of out of sorts today, so do bear with me.
However this is my second posting on the  SEVEN DON'TS TO HAVING A  STRESS FREE "I DO" DAY, click here to read up on Number one(1) wedding don't.

Here we go;

2. Don't delay the pick up of your wedding gown or accessories till the wedding eve.

Whether you bought it, ordered it, tailored it, or even hired it, just ensure that  your gown gets to you at least one week before the wedding. This gives you time to try it on and ample opportunity to nip and tuck any loose corners, return or possibly replace any delivery or color errors.

My younger sister Nkechi, ordered her wedding gown to be delivered on her wedding eve, but you cannot imagine her horror and the panic that set in, when she discovered that the wrong bolero jacket was delivered with the gown. To cut the long story short the right bolero was never recovered, so she had to settle for another, which was delivered just in time the next morning, right before she had to leave for the church.

My point "a stitch in time saves nine".
